Playing as a Pyromancer with every perks. I noticed that the more Burn potency the enemy had accumulated, the less damage he takes from burning (and from the perk Conflagration). I ended up doing less than 50 damage to the Mimic.
Edit: this might be related with the Hot Streak perk. The burn potency actually reduces the damage the enemy receives until it gets to 0.
