Some items, most specifically backgrounds, are not displayed separately when the loot filter is set to Normal.
Other items that may or may not be intended to be shown:
All items obtained in your castle, including Goblet, Dwarves, Prophecies, etc. show up in a regular loot window on Normal.
Gambling tickets from the Riddle Dwarf show up on the side on Normal.
