I started a new game to check how lazy one can be, and given normal luck with artifact/spell gem drops, this took me to itherian realm ~30 with 1-2 deaths in one day of gameplay and no artifact creation/breeding/leveling/repeating realms at all:
- realm level 4 gives you raven acolyte, which has high base int + speed + trait: 25% more intelligence. get 4-5 of those and nothing will survive (use imp necromancer for free shellbust till you get better spells).
- eventually you get the hammersmith, which lets your creatures share starting buffs from artifacts with each other. been broken since siralim 1, now even better by supplementing it with runes.
that’s it, that’s all you need (I ignored pallida cause laggy). it’s not an invincible setup, nor broken, but it demonstrates that you can ignore almost all of the games systems and traits (and thus the grind for resources/emblems) - and that’s a bit of a shame since nethers, breeding for new creatures, building interesting parties, modifying spell gems, artifact enhancement etc. should be the meat of the game, but if you can kill 99% of enemy parties for 1% of the effort, that doesn’t motivate me to grind my ass off exactly.
right before I threw in the towel, I got an artifact with ‘creatures gain 7% speed for every non-temp nature gem equipped’, which immediately gave my creatures with stats around ~2-4k 40k speed. another trait that was so broken in S2 I’m really surprised it wasn’t changed.
what do you think, should the game force you to make use of all its systems at least in the post game? is the game balance off? I never got enough emblems/god favour to unlock anything and I had to breed my creatures to unlock higher levels after every goddamn itherian realm with a decent bonus, which was super annoying.
