The new Snowstorm : Builds with endless loop

  • Royal Authority + Wild Stab
Some of us have tested this and found it didn’t create an endless loop.
I found this indeed created an endless loop and won’t stop until all the enemy is dead. Basically 1 act win all, endless build with just 2 traits. Even if your stats are too low, you can throw in some on hit gems with +Attack effect or Righteous Wind : +50% Attack and Int every attack).

IMO, Wild stab is fine as it is. It’s Royal Authority that creates the endless loop.

-Carnal Genesis + Charity (or any heal all Traits --Sense of Purpose, Circle of Life, Vampiric Aura)
Cast heal on the creature with Charity, each of your creatures has 30%(or 51% with double cast or more with other multicast or whatnot).
Or multiple attacks with circle of life/Vampiric aura will work the same too.

Going to change Royal Authority for now, and the rest will be dealt with when I do a balance pass on traits (which will happen after the next big patch). In the meantime, if anyone thinks of any more of these types of combinations, please post them!

If you have a creature with Midnight Feast cast Reincarnation on one of your creatures you can trigger on death/on resurrection effects forever because you keep getting an extra turn for killing the creature. Midnight Feast probably should only proc on enemy kills.

Haven’t tried these but I think

  • Secret Recipe or Spur of the Heavens coupled with anything that can attack more than 5-6 times per turn.

-Second Chance + Lifebinder + any sacrifice actions. (Also with Midnight Feast or Endless Swarm)
Second Chance should have “This trait does not stack.”

  • Break the Cycle with Ley Lines.
  • Break the Cycle with Voodoo+Group Meditation.
Break the cycle can create endless loop tho it’s more difficult to use and can easily be countered with Unknown Entity.

Please do not change this Zack, at least do not change midnight feast. There is no easy way to abuse endless resurrections, at least not that I have come across yet and I have been looking. Yes it can be used to win battles, but not necessarily abused. It still take a lot of work and a nether creature to get any meaningful results, and even then battles can take a very long time.

If there is another trait/spell that makes Midnight Feast a one button win (haven’t found anything close yet), then please change that trait and leave MIdnight Feast alone.

Probably the only alternative would be to get rid of the Reincarnation spell, because with it and Midnight Feast you can kill and revive one of your creatures with a single action. You can use this to trigger things like Woe or Buffet to deal damage forever, Breath of the Dying to Freeze the enemies forever, Thunderstruck to stun enemies forever, Second Chance to move all your creatures to the top of the Action Queue, etc.

Midnight Feast + Reincarnation/Second Chance + any on death/resurrect trait
or Midnight Feast + Resurrection Code + any sacrifice traits/spells
are pretty much 1 button win.
You only need 2 traits and 1 spell. The only counter is Final Breath and we don’t encounter this trait that often.

An easy way out is like Ulias suggested, makes Midnight Feast only works on enemy but that will kill a lot of fun combo.

Come to think of this, can Final Breath counter Reincarnation? The description doesn’t sound like it does.

Ok so we have established that getting infinite resurrections is easy with Midnight Feast…but HOW do we kill the enemies reliably??

I have a rather clever team that accomplishes this, but it is not easy and it requires a Nether Critter. Also it is very time consuming the higher you go.

This combo is not to be considered “one button win” like some of the old snowstorm combos. Yes it can technically scale up to realm level 10million, but you would probably die of old age by the time you could clear one battle.

So I tested this.

Vengeane + Resin + Midnight Feast
Casts Reincarnation on your imling repeatedly. Your imling should be on the first position so you can spam E.
You can finish fights in high realms pretty quick too since it scales 70% every casts. There are a few ways to stack more traits to raise the atk more exponential like Dark Dance or whatever.

Can be done with 1 single Nether or 1 normal creature with Braze. As long as you get to act it’s 100% guaranteed win(cast haste/etc). The only counter is Woe on enemy team but SI can counter that too.

Rapid Evolution trait on artifact makes an immortal creature.

Can be coupled with Midnight Feast to make infinite loop.

Rapid Evolution should have “This trait is replaced with the Imler’s trait this creature copies”

SI + Long Live makes an immortal creature.

In that case, Spiral Ward + Admire the Gods/Celestial Fortitude with odd HP + Long Live makes a nether immortal as well (optionally adding debuff immunity).

With high enough realm, Vanity + Eye of the Storm makes an immortal team.

Alternatively, have them on a lv1 creature and have Hypothermia on.

Edit: Sorry. After further testing, this only works with attacks and spells. You can prevent debuff damage using Righteous Concession or Fih Rune but you can still die from indirect damage from traits, splash, etc. This probably ignore some 80-90% of damage sources in game but there’re a lot of ways enemy team can counter this.

Edit2: Actually, throw in SI and the team is immortal.
Edit3: Nope, my bad. SI will probably disable Vanity. This set up is not 100% immortal.

Burst of Power + Multistrike or some kind of multiple hits traits + a lot of Ice Bolt gems.
Burst of Power + Sabotage/Fury Swipes/Aftermath can also create endless loop. (or max number of attacks per turn?)

To a lesser degree, a creature with Sabotage/Fury Swipes/Aftermath with on hit/when hit properties on them casting said spells can create near endless loop too.

I personally think this is really a fun combo and I assume many people are using this of some of similar setups. I would hate to see it gone. Maybe tone it down a bit but not eliminate it? Up to you.

Edit: I tested this set up, 10 minutes passed. All enemy dead and the loop still keeps going. need to close the game

Mungus Harbinger/Voodoo + Other Harbinger traits, other end of turn/start of turn buff traits (Death’s Bite, etc), or any on cast traits.
Cast Haste/Rabid dementia on another creature and create endless loop of buffs, procs.

Alternatively, Haste/Rabid dementia with 0 cost + Sense of Purpose/Rapid Regeneration.

Transformation Mastery + Unknown Entity gives infinite loop.
coupled with any end of turn/beginning of turn traits. (Derision, Insatiable,Haunted Carapace, etc).

Same for haste/rabid dementia + unknown entity.

Dungeon shade is using Invisible / Mend.
On his turn every turn he becomes invisible, at a health cost, that mend fixes. Floor 6.
This is my first encounter with invisible enemies or 4 man enemy party sizes. I can’t harm him and he can’t kill us, unless I stay in this fight for 700 more turns.

Nevermind. It’s my valkyrie’s response attack that setting him back to invisible every time.
